Fellow's Stagg EKG Pro: the gooseneck kettle that heats water to the exact degree

Sold by us, in four colors, with a two-year warranty from Fellow. It's made for pour-over coffee and tea, and it holds just under a liter.

Most kettles boil water and switch off. Fellow's Stagg EKG Pro lets you choose the temperature to the degree and then holds the water there. And its long, thin gooseneck spout pours slowly, exactly where you aim it, which is what pour-over coffee needs.

The gooseneck spout is also why the kettle looks the way it does. It's a kettle people leave out on the counter, and its colors are muted rather than loud: matte black, matte white, and Stone Blue and Smoke Green, which come with wooden handles.

What the Stagg EKG Pro does

On the Stagg EKG Pro, you turn the dial on the base to set the temperature, anywhere from 104 to 212 °F, and the screen shows the water's temperature as it heats. Then the hold setting keeps the water at that temperature for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, so a second cup doesn't need a second boil.

The kettle's base does a few more things, all from the same dial. There's a stopwatch for timing a pour-over, and you can set the kettle to heat at a time you choose, so the water is ready when you come down in the morning. There's also an altitude setting, because water boils at a lower temperature the higher you are.

The kettle itself is stainless steel, while the handle and the lid pull are plastic, or wood on Stone Blue and Smoke Green. It heats at up to 1,200 watts.

What the Stagg EKG Pro doesn't do

The kettle holds 30 ounces, so it's made for one or two cups at a time, not for a family's pot of tea. The gooseneck pours slowly by design, which suits pour-over but feels slow when you only want hot water fast. And it costs more than a kettle that only boils, so it earns its price when you use the temperature setting.

What owners say about the Stagg EKG Pro

On Amazon, the matte black Stagg EKG Pro scores 4.4 out of 5 from 289 ratings (September 2026). Owners write most about the temperature control and how the kettle looks on the counter.

"Functional as it is beautiful. We use this kettle daily for pour-overs and tea. The temp control is easy and it will hold at the level for at least 30 mins."

Amazon customer, verified purchase, May 2026, in Stone Blue

"This has changed my coffee game. By using 185° water in my pour over, it just tastes smoother."

Amazon customer, verified purchase, July 2026, in Smoke Green

But the complaints about the Stagg EKG Pro are worth reading too, and most are about the pour and the plastic.

"My only gripe is that I wish it poured a little faster."

Amazon customer, verified purchase, August 2026, in matte white

"This one is all plastic for your touch points which for the money was surprising."

Amazon customer, verified purchase, December 2025, in matte black

"What I’ve found happens is that the base will revert to a random temp and get stuck there."

The last owner's kettle went wrong after a little over a year, which is inside Fellow's two-year warranty.
