Coffee and espresso
The Nespresso Vertuo Pop+: a small pod coffee machine in aqua mint and pistachio, and what to know about its pods
The Vertuo Pop+ is Nespresso's smallest Vertuo machine, in five colors from aqua mint to lilac. But the Vertuo Pop+ only brews Nespresso's own Vertuo capsules, so every cup you make starts with a Nespresso capsule.

A coffee machine sits out on the counter every day, so its color counts. And the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ comes in aqua mint, pistachio, lilac, spicy red and coconut white, and Nespresso calls it "Our smallest, most colorful Vertuo ever." So if you'd like coffee at the touch of a button, in a color you can see from across the kitchen, aqua mint and pistachio are the two to look at first.
The Vertuo Pop+ is simple on purpose. It reads each capsule and sets the brew itself, so there's nothing to adjust before your first cup, and it's small enough to leave out on a narrow counter.
You want coffee at the touch of a button, in a color, on a small counter, and you're happy to buy Nespresso's Vertuo capsules.
You want to brew ground coffee or another brand's pods. The Vertuo Pop+ only brews Nespresso's Vertuo capsules.
One year, limited, from Breville, which makes and sells the machine in the US for Nespresso.
Amazon, in all five colors.

What the Vertuo Pop+ does
The Vertuo Pop+ makes coffee at the touch of a button. You put a Vertuo capsule in, close the top and start the brew, and the machine reads a code on the capsule to set the brew for that coffee. So you don't set the brew yourself, because the machine takes it from the capsule.
The Vertuo Pop+ makes five cup sizes, from a 1.35 ounce espresso to a 14 ounce mug, and it heats up in 30 seconds. Its water tank holds 25.4 ounces and comes off to fill, and the bin for used capsules holds eight espresso capsules or five mug capsules. It also connects to Nespresso's app by Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, for setting your cup sizes and for looking after the machine, and it switches itself off after two minutes.
The Vertuo Pop+ is 8.6 inches wide, 10.4 inches tall and 14 inches deep, and it weighs about 8 pounds. So it's narrow from the front, but it's deeper than it is tall.
What the Vertuo Pop+ doesn't do
The Vertuo Pop+ only brews Nespresso's Vertuo capsules. It won't take ground coffee, and it won't take any capsule that isn't a Vertuo capsule. So every cup you make starts with a Nespresso Vertuo capsule, and you'll keep buying them for as long as you use the machine.
A capsule-only coffee machine suits some kitchens more than others. If you like the Vertuo coffees, the capsules are what make the machine so easy to use. But if you'd like to choose your own beans, a machine that takes ground coffee gives you more say over what goes in the cup.
The warranty on the Vertuo Pop+ is one year, and it's a limited warranty. So a machine that stops in its second year is yours to repair or replace.
What owners say about the Vertuo Pop+
On Amazon, the Vertuo Pop+ scores 4.2 out of 5 from 2,471 ratings, across the colors we link (September 2026). Owners write most about how small the machine is and how easy it is to use.
"Perfect for a smaller kitchen. Cute and compact, but still makes a great coffee, large or small."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, July 2026, in pistachio

But the owner of the lilac Vertuo Pop+ also had a complaint about the capsules, and other owners had complaints of their own. Those complaints are worth reading before you buy.
"The flavored capsules in the vertuoline are horrible. I assumed there wouldn’t be much difference in coffees from one line to the other."
The same owner, August 2026
"Only complaint I have arthritis and sometimes it is hard to close it but that's a me issue."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, July 2026, in pistachio
"It worked at first and I loved it, but I have done everything to clean it and still it keeps flashing red."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, August 2026, in pistachio
The last owner had used the machine for one or two months, which is well inside the one-year warranty.
The Vertuo Pop+'s colors, and where to buy each color
All five colors of the Vertuo Pop+ are sold on Amazon, so the delivery and returns follow the Amazon seller's terms, and the warranty is Breville's. Pistachio is listed on Amazon as a limited edition. And aqua mint, lilac, spicy red and coconut white are the other four colors.

Who makes the Vertuo Pop+
In the US, Breville makes and sells the Vertuo Pop+ for Nespresso, as Breville model BNV121. Nespresso lists Hungary as the country of origin. So the one-year limited warranty is Breville's, and Breville is who you'd contact about a fault. And there's no recall on record for the Vertuo Pop+ at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).
What goes with the Vertuo Pop+
The Vertuo Pop+ is the pod machine in the coffee machine guide, which runs from a stovetop pot that needs no power to an espresso machine built by hand. So if you'd rather use ground coffee, the guide shows the colorful machines that take it.
The Essential Guide's kitchen built around the Del Mar fridge has a Vertuo Pop+ in coconut white or aqua mint among its small pieces. It sits beside a Smeg toaster and kettle in the color of the fridge door.
