Who makes it, and what to know
Since February 2026 AGA has been owned by Composition Brands, which also owns Viking. AGA's US site does not say where the Elise is built. AGA's warranty on it: two years parts and labor, cosmetic faults only for 90 days and reported within 7 days of installation, and the oven elements for two more years as parts only. Induction heats the pan itself, so pans must be magnetic; it needs a 240-volt, 50-amp circuit. The antique brass handle ends and knobs have to be chosen when you order. AGA says colors it does not have in stock take 4 to 12 weeks. AGA's September 2026 recall covers the dual-fuel Elise, not this induction model. You buy from Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance and electronics store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. Abt handles delivery and returns: most items go back within 30 days in their original packaging, and Abt may charge the return shipping. The warranty is AGA's.

Classic built at Telford, but the Mercury and Elise are built on the Rangemaster line at Leamington Spa, and the famous foundry closed in 2017.

Recalled on 10 September 2026: about 3,992 Elise and Mercury dual-fuel ranges (with La Cornue's CornuFé), where a missing test-port cap can leak gas, with a risk of fire or explosion. No injuries reported; free inspection and repair. The induction and cast-iron models are not included.

Fourteen colors, but eight of them force a stainless front panel. No chips, no custom. Lead time 10 to 20 weeks.

Four reviews: two five-star, and two one-star that describe repeated repairs. Abt and every other store we checked have none. Too few to be a record either way. We quote the three most recent. “This range is absolutely gorgeous but has been a nightmare from day one. All burners have been replaced at different times, the main power component as been replaced and now the bottom storage drawer has broken both tracks. Each and every one of these is multiple service calls. The first call is to come out then order parts which are always on backorder. This unit is less than nine months old. Having the induction cooktop is wonderful when it works!”
“This range has been a nightmare from the time I got it. One burner won't work and the regular oven doesn't reach max temp. I have had a repairman probably 5 times, but they can't seem to fix it. Design is unintuitive. Out of characters or would have more.”
