Who makes it, and what to know
AGA makes its cast-iron cookers in Shropshire, England. Since February 2026 AGA has been owned by Composition Brands, which also owns Viking. AGA's US warranty: one year parts and labor, then parts only for years two to five. An AGA is not a range with burners and a single oven: it cooks with radiant heat from cast iron, in three ovens set at different temperatures and on two hotplates. On the eR7 a touch screen switches each oven and hotplate on and off, with five settings for the roasting oven and four for the baking oven; AGA's guide says the whole cooker takes about an hour to heat from cold. It weighs 815 lb, so the floor must be level and strong enough to carry it, and AGA asks for a licensed electrician and its own 240-volt, 40-amp circuit. AGA says colors it does not have in stock take about 16 weeks. The R7 100, next to this on the site, looks the same but its ovens stay on all the time, and it costs about $2,000 less at Abt. You buy from Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance and electronics store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. Abt handles delivery and returns: most items go back within 30 days in their original packaging, and Abt may charge the return shipping. The warranty is AGA's.
