Who makes it, and what to know
Bertazzoni is an Italian family company that has made cooking equipment since 1882; it says its ranges are designed, engineered and made in Italy, at its own factory in Guastalla. Bertazzoni's warranty is two years, parts and labor, and four years if you register the appliance; complaints about oven temperature are covered for only the first 180 days. Bertazzoni makes it to order and says it ships in about 12 weeks. Dual fuel means gas burners over an electric oven, so it needs both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit. The 30 inch has one power burner; the 36 and 48 inch have two. A digital gauge shows the actual oven temperature and holds the controls for the food probe. You buy from Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance and electronics store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. Abt handles delivery and returns: most items go back within 30 days in their original packaging, and Abt may charge the return shipping. The warranty is Bertazzoni's.
