Who makes it, and what to know

Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a GE product line from 2007 and became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. The warranty is one year on the whole appliance, parts and labor. On Café's site it scores 4.2 out of 5 across 300 owner reviews, and 40 of those (13%) are one star. That is about one in eight. The one-star reviews we read describe trouble converting between natural gas and propane, repeat service visits, and a control board replaced in the first year. At 362 lb it needs a planned delivery and a qualified gas installer. You buy from Café's own store, so delivery, returns and the warranty are Café's.
