The Smeg stand mixer comes in seven colors, and all seven colors share a name with a Smeg kettle color. And under the color, the Smeg mixer has a die-cast aluminum body, ten speeds and one year of warranty.
Smeg makes its stand mixer in the same color names as its kettle and its two-slice toaster, so one Smeg color can run from the toaster to the mixer. And at 14.9 inches tall, the mixer is the largest block of that color on the counter. But the color is only half of the choice, so here's what's under the paint too.

What the Smeg stand mixer does
The Smeg stand mixer has a 5-quart stainless steel bowl and a 750-watt direct-drive motor, by Smeg's own page for the SMF05. And it has ten speeds with a slow start, which Smeg calls Smooth Start. Then the Smeg mixer comes with four tools, a wire whisk, a flat beater, a flex-edge beater and a dough hook.
Smeg rates the bowl for anywhere from 2 egg whites to 12 egg whites. So the Smeg mixer takes small jobs as well as bread dough, up to 4.6 pounds of bread or pizza dough made with up to 2.9 pounds of flour.
The Smeg mixer's head tilts back when you press a button, and Smeg's Steady-Mix system cuts down the shaking while the mixer runs. That same system lets the head open gently and stops it dropping shut by accident. And Smeg lists a safety lock for when the head is up.
The Smeg mixer's body and base are die-cast aluminum, so the color sits on metal. But the chromed cover on the front is plastic. And behind that cover is a port for Smeg's optional attachments, such as the pasta set and the ice-cream maker, which are sold separately.
What the Smeg stand mixer doesn't do
The Smeg stand mixer's warranty runs one year from purchase. So Smeg USA covers parts and labor for that year, and after that a repair is yours to arrange.
The Smeg mixer is large, too. It's 15.9 inches wide and 14.9 inches tall, and 19 inches tall with the head up, so measure under your cabinets before you choose a spot. And at 21 pounds, the Smeg mixer is one to leave out on the counter rather than lift from a cabinet.
The Smeg mixer also has a short record with owners. Because 98 people have rated the Smeg mixer on Amazon, against 23,164 ratings for the KitchenAid Artisan, there's less to go on about how the Smeg mixer holds up over the years.

The Smeg stand mixer's colors, and where to buy each color
Red, pastel green, cream and black are sold on Amazon. Then pastel blue, pink and white are sold by Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance store in Glenview, Illinois. So the seller changes with the color you choose, and the delivery and returns change with it.
The Smeg mixer in pastel blue, pink or white was $550 at Abt in late September 2026, in each of the three colors. But Abt listed all three colors for pre-order, so ask Abt for a delivery date before you order.
The Amazon listings for red, pastel green, cream and black carry the model name SMF03, while Smeg's own page and Abt list the SMF05. So check the model number on the Amazon listing before you order, because the motor and the tools described here are Smeg's figures for the SMF05.
Abt takes most items back within 30 days in their original packaging, and it may charge the return shipping. But Amazon's returns follow the seller on each listing. And whichever seller you choose, the warranty is Smeg USA's.
The Smeg toaster and kettle that match the Smeg stand mixer
All seven of the Smeg mixer's colors share a name with a color of the Smeg KLF03 kettle. And six of the mixer's colors share a name with the Smeg two-slice toaster, whose black is called Matte Black. So if you choose the same color name on each piece, the toaster, the kettle and the mixer can sit together in one color.

Who makes the Smeg stand mixer
Smeg is an Italian appliance maker based in Guastalla, near Reggio Emilia, and Vittorio Bertazzoni founded it in 1948. Then Smeg began making small appliances in 2014, so the mixer, the toaster and the kettle are the newer side of the company. And there's no recall on record for the Smeg stand mixer at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).
