Toasters and kettles
The toaster and kettle that match, and the makers that make both in one color
A toaster and a kettle are small, they cost far less than a range, and they're the first things anyone notices on the counter. Here are the makers that put one color on both.

A toaster and a kettle sit out all day, side by side, so they're where a kitchen's color shows first. But only a few makers paint both in the same color, and the color names don't always carry over from one to the other. So this guide pairs them up, maker by maker, with the warranty and the seller for each piece.
Smeg, with a toaster and a kettle in red, pink, cream, white, pastel blue, pastel green and navy.
KitchenAid, whose toaster has five years, limited, in Empire Red or black, with a kettle to match.
Haden, the British retro pair, with copper or chrome trim.
Fellow's Stagg EKG Pro, sold by us, beside Café's toaster in matte white or matte black.
Smeg: the same color names on the toaster and the kettle
Smeg makes its two-slice toaster and its seven-cup kettle in the same colors, which is why they're the pair most people picture. Both have a one-year warranty from Smeg USA, on parts and labor.
The toaster runs at 980 watts, with six browning levels and settings to reheat, defrost and toast bagels, and its bagel setting toasts one side only. The kettle holds 1.7 liters and switches off when the water boils, with no temperature settings.

The Smeg toaster and kettle don't always come from the same seller, though. In red, pastel blue and navy, one piece is sold on Amazon and the other by Abt Electronics, and each seller has its own delivery and returns.
| Color | Toaster sold by | Kettle sold by |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Abt Electronics | Amazon |
| Pink | Abt Electronics | Abt Electronics |

Owners write about the Smeg toaster and kettle as a pair, and one owner describes the matching black.
"The glossy black finish is sleek and classic, and having the two side by side really ties everything together."

But the toaster's complaints are about the toast, and they're worth reading before you buy.
"First, it toasts unevenly. We had hoped this was temporary and the toaster just needed to be broken in. A good year or so later and it is still terrible."

And for a household that toasts more, Smeg's four-slot TSF03 comes in most of the same colors, with two separate controls.

KitchenAid: Empire Red, and a toaster with a five-year warranty
KitchenAid's manual-lift toaster has a metal body and a five-year limited warranty, which is long for a toaster. Its kettle holds 1.25 liters, with a stainless steel body on a separate base and a one-year full warranty. Both come in Empire Red and black, and Empire Red is the red of KitchenAid's stand mixer too.
The kettle also comes in Pistachio, a pale green, which has no toaster to match.

Owners like the kettle for how simple it is, and the toaster for how solid it feels. But some say the toaster browns one side more than the other.
"This is a great kettle that I purchased to match other Kitchenaid products on my counters. It heats water quickly and to a good boil."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, December 2025, on the KitchenAid kettle in Empire Red
"The toaster feels very solid and looks good on the counter. Its actual toasting ability is not as good. It’s always darker on one side, and you dare not use settings above a 1 or it will burn."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, July 2024, on the KitchenAid toaster
A 2018 recall covered KitchenAid's larger 1.7-liter kettle, for a handle that could come loose. The 1.25-liter kettle here isn't part of that recall.
Haden: turquoise or ivory, with copper or chrome
Haden is a British brand, and its Heritage toaster and kettle both come in turquoise, in ivory with copper trim and in ivory with chrome.
The toaster centers the bread so both sides toast evenly, and its crumb tray pulls out. The kettle holds 1.7 liters on a base that turns all the way round, and it switches off at boiling and if it boils dry.

Haden's own website is its UK store, and those models run on 220 to 240 volts, so they won't work in a US kitchen. The Haden pieces we link on Amazon are the US 120-volt versions. We couldn't find Haden's US warranty terms, so check them on the Amazon listing before you buy.
"This is my second Haden toaster. I had the cute turquoise one for the last six years but it was starting to get gross on the inside…"

"Love the color, style and quality. My only complaint is that the handle gets too hot and will burn your hand."

Fellow and Café: a kettle for pour-over coffee beside a matte toaster
Fellow makes no toaster, and we don't list a Café kettle. But both brands come in matte white and matte black, so Fellow's Stagg EKG Pro can sit beside Café's Express Finish toaster in the same finish.
The Stagg EKG Pro is the kettle we sell ourselves, at $180. It heats water to the temperature you choose, holds 30 ounces and has a two-year warranty from Fellow. And Café's toaster has slots 1.38 inches wide, eight shades and copper trim, with a one-year warranty from Café, sold by Abt Electronics.

Before you buy a matching toaster and kettle
- Finish: check that the finish matches as well as the color, because matte black and gloss black aren't the same color.
- Seller: check who sells each piece, because in some colors the toaster and the kettle come from different sellers, each with its own returns.
- Volts: buy the US 120-volt versions, because a UK model won't work in a US kitchen.
- Temperature: decide whether you need temperature settings on the kettle, because most retro kettles only boil.
- Warranty: check the warranty on each piece, because the toaster's warranty can be five years and the kettle's one year.
