Café makes its commercial hood in the same matte white and matte black as its commercial-style ranges, in 30 and 36 inch widths. And the hood has baffle filters, four fan speeds and a night-light setting, with one thing to check first, which is how much air your range needs moved.
Café's commercial hood is the hood Café makes to go over its own commercial-style ranges, and it comes in the same two finishes, matte white and matte black. So a matte white Café range can have a matte white Café hood above it. But a hood has a job to do as well as a look to match, and the range below it decides how big that job is.

What the Café commercial hood does
The Café commercial hood has four fan speeds, set from the front edge of the hood. And Café rates the airflow at 440 cubic feet a minute, written as CFM, at full speed when the hood vents up, and 400 CFM when it vents out the back. That 440 CFM is the number we use, though Café's spec sheet calls the motor a 610 CFM blower.
The Café hood's filters are baffle filters, which Café says trap more grease and need cleaning less often than standard filters. Then the filters lift out to wash.
The Café hood has two LED lights over the cooktop, with a night-light setting for a low glow at night. And Café names its exhaust design QuietBoost, which it says keeps the hood quiet from the moment you switch it on.
The Café hood vents outside through an 8 inch round duct, or it recirculates the air instead.
What the Café commercial hood doesn't do
The Café commercial hood isn't quiet at full speed. That's because Café rates it at 9 sones there (a sone is a measure of how loud a fan sounds), which is loud. But at working speed, Café rates the 30 inch hood at 3 sones and the 36 inch hood at 1.
The Café hood's 440 CFM is also modest for the ranges it's made to go over. That's because the rule of thumb that Viking and ZLINE publish is one CFM for every 100 BTU of burners under the hood, BTU being the heat a gas burner puts out. And Café's 36 inch commercial-style ranges have six burners of at least 10,000 BTU each, so by that rule they want 600 CFM or more. So if you cook on all six burners at once, ask whoever installs the hood whether 440 CFM is enough for your kitchen.
The Café hood's 440 CFM rating brings a second check with it. Because the hood is over 400 CFM venting up, the International Residential Code, section M1503.6, asks for a way for fresh air to come in, called make-up air. So ask your installer about make-up air before you buy.
The Café hood needs its 8 inch duct, and the duct covers for 8, 10 and 12 foot ceilings are sold separately. So add a duct cover to the price, and don't shrink the duct to fit an old, smaller hole, because a hood on a shrunken duct never works properly.
The Café hood comes in 30 and 36 inch widths only. But Café's commercial-style ranges on our site are 36 and 48 inches wide, so the 36 inch hood goes over the 36 inch ranges, and the 48 inch range has no Café hood of its width here. And Café says to mount the hood at least 24 inches and at most 36 inches above the cooktop.

So the last owner found the two LED lights too dim to light the wall behind the cooktop.
The Café commercial hood's colors, and where to buy each color
The Café commercial hood comes in matte white or matte black. And every width in both finishes is sold by Abt Electronics, a family-owned appliance store in Glenview, Illinois, open since 1936. So here's what each Café hood cost at Abt in late September 2026, when all four hoods were on pre-order.

So the matte white hood costs a little more than the matte black hood at each width.
Abt handles the delivery and the returns, and most items go back to Abt within 30 days in their original packaging, and Abt may charge the return shipping. But the warranty is Café's, one year on parts and labor, whichever width and finish you choose.
Who makes the Café commercial hood
Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. And Café was a GE product line from 2007 before it became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. But Café doesn't say where its hoods are built. And repairs go through Café's authorized servicers, booked online.
Café's lowest scores on our Scorecard are for its one-year warranty and for color, because Café's colors are matte white and matte black only.
There's no recall on record for either Café commercial hood at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).
The Café ranges and dishwasher that match the Café hood
Café makes its commercial-style ranges and its dishwasher in the same matte white and matte black as the hood, so the range, the hood and the dishwasher can all come from one maker.
But owners report slight differences in shade across a set of Café pieces, so look at the pieces side by side in daylight when they arrive. And Café covers damage to a range's finish only if you report it within 48 hours of delivery.

- Width: choose the 36 inch hood for a 36 inch Café range, because the hood comes in 30 and 36 inches only.

- Duct: plan for an 8 inch round duct, and add a Café duct cover for your ceiling height, because the duct covers are sold separately.
- Timing: check the delivery date at Abt, because all four Café hoods were on pre-order in late September 2026.
