Cookware
Colorful cookware, from Dutch ovens to everyday pans, and the color to choose for your kitchen
Cookware is the easiest place to put color in a kitchen, because a pot costs far less than a range. So here's every colorful pot and pan we list, with what each is made of, how long its warranty runs, and how to choose its color.

Colorful cookware comes in two kinds, and they're made very differently. So this guide starts with what each kind is, then goes maker by maker with the colors each one comes in, and ends with the cookware color that suits the rest of your kitchen.
Le Creuset, Staub and Great Jones, enameled cast iron Dutch ovens with limited lifetime warranties.
Our Place, Caraway and GreenPan, ceramic nonstick pans with one to three years of warranty.
GreenPan's Rio, two frying pans in turquoise, pink or blue.
Fiesta's dinnerware, made in West Virginia, in Scarlet, Turquoise or Meadow.
Enameled cast iron or ceramic nonstick: what each kind of cookware is
Enameled cast iron is cast iron with a coat of enamel over it, which Le Creuset says needs no seasoning. But it's heavy, about 12.6 pounds for Staub's 5.5 quart cocotte and 15 pounds for Great Jones' oval Dutch oven. And each of those makers gives its pots a limited lifetime warranty.
Ceramic nonstick is a lighter pan with a ceramic coating that its makers sell as made without PFAS, the group of chemicals often called forever chemicals. So Our Place's Always Pan weighs 3.9 pounds, about a quarter of the Great Jones Dutch oven. But the warranties are shorter, three years from Our Place and one year from Caraway, while GreenPan covers its coating for two years.
The warranties are the plainest guide to how long each kind of cookware is meant to last. And owners write of nonstick pans that stuck within a year, and of enamel pots still in use after twenty years.
None of this cookware has a recall on record at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (checked September 2026).

Le Creuset: the round Dutch oven, made in France
Le Creuset has made cookware in France since 1925, and it casts its round Dutch ovens at its own foundry in Fresnoy-le-Grand. Its 5.5 quart Dutch oven works on every kind of cooktop, and we link it in Cerise, Flame, Marseille and Meringue. But the knob decides how hot the oven can be, because the black knob is rated to 500 °F and the stainless steel knob has no oven limit.

"has developed a lovely patina and is still going strong 4 years later."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2025, in Flame
"It is very heavy, but this helps items cook evenly."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, October 2024, in Meringue
The Le Creuset Dutch oven article has more on the pot.
Staub: deeper colors and a black interior
Staub's round cocotte is made in France too, by Staub's artisans in Merville, and its colors are deeper than Le Creuset's, from Cherry and Dark Blue to Lilac and Pistachio. Its enamel inside is black and matte, and the cocotte works on induction and in the oven to 500 °F. But Staub says not to put it under the broiler or use metal utensils, and to wash it by hand.

Staub also warns that its warranty may not apply to a pot bought from an unauthorized seller or a marketplace. And our links go to Amazon, so check who the seller is before you buy.
"I got red and it is perfect for my kitchen....a pleasant red...not orange or burgundy."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, October 2020, in Cherry
"A quality item. Really heavy though. You need to be aware of that when lifting it , washing it etc."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, February 2026, in Dark Blue
The Staub cocotte article has more on the cocotte and the eleven colors we link.
Great Jones: an oval Dutch oven in matte food colors
Great Jones, which describes itself as a women-run small business based in New York, makes the Dutchess, an oval enameled cast iron Dutch oven of 6.75 quarts that fits a whole chicken. Its matte colors have food names, from Blueberry and Mustard to Broccoli and Pepper, and the Dutchess works on induction and in the oven to 500 °F. But the rim is bare iron, so Great Jones recommends washing it by hand and drying it at once so the rim doesn't rust.

"It's heavy and it retains heat so whatever I cook doesn't get cold as soon as I take it out of the oven."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2026, in Blueberry
"The enamel coating arrives chipped & scratched. I have reordered this beautiful Dutch oven 2xs now."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2026, in Mustard
Dansk: a light enamel pot whose lid is a trivet
Dansk's Kobenstyle casserole was designed by Jens Quistgaard in 1956, and its lid turns over to become a trivet on the table. It's enamelware, 2 quarts in most colors and 4 quarts in lavender. But it's hand wash only and not for the microwave, and we couldn't confirm its warranty or how hot an oven it takes, so check both on the listing.

"The only problem with the Dansk is the ability to remove the lids when hot."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2021, in Midnight Blue
Our Place: one pan for most everyday cooking
Our Place's Always Pan 2.0 is a 10.5 inch ceramic nonstick pan, 2.6 quarts deep, with a steam-release lid, a wooden spatula and a steamer basket. It goes in the oven to 450 °F, and its warranty is three years, limited. But Our Place asks you to wash it by hand, use wooden or silicone tools, keep the heat low to medium and never heat it empty.

"It's so pretty (the blue one) I leave it out on the stove all the time"
Amazon customer, verified purchase, January 2024, in Blue Salt
"Egg stuck all over the pan, and couldn't scrape it off with plastic utensils."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, March 2024, in Blue Salt
The Always Pan article has more on the pan, including what it doesn't do.
Caraway: a full set of pans, with the racks to store them
Caraway's ceramic nonstick set has a fry pan, a sauce pan, a sauté pan and a 6.5 quart Dutch oven, with storage racks and a lid holder included. It works on induction and goes in the oven to 550 °F, in eight colors from Marigold and Navy to Sage and Cream. But Caraway says the dishwasher damages the coating, and the one-year warranty doesn't cover scratches, stains or other cosmetic wear.

"Non-stick perfection, lids seal perfectly, and they are very handsome looking."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, August 2026, in Navy
"Within 6 months, we were having major problems with food sticking to the pans and also ugly, permanent stains."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, November 2024, in Gray
The Caraway set article has more on each piece in the set.
GreenPan: the least expensive way into colorful cookware
GreenPan's Rio sets are two ceramic nonstick frying pans each, and they're the least expensive cookware on this list. But the GreenPan colors come in two different sets, so check which one you're buying. Those sets are the original Rio, in turquoise and black, 8 and 10 inch pans that don't work on induction, and Rio Advanced, in pink, blue and cream white, 10 and 12 inch pans that do.
Both GreenPan sets go in the oven only to 350 °F. And GreenPan covers defects for life but the coating for two years.

"However, I've done everything recommended to extend their life and I still only got a year out of the pan before things started to stick."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, June 2023, in black
Fiesta: the color on the table
Fiesta makes dinnerware rather than pots, and its 4-piece place setting is a dinner plate, a salad plate, a bowl and a mug. And Fiesta, introduced in 1936, is made in Newell, West Virginia, and goes in the dishwasher, the oven and the microwave. Its five-year warranty covers chips in normal use, but not drops or knocks.
But Fiesta retires colors over time, and Cobalt and Sunflower, two colors we link, are already retired.

"I’ve had them for years and years and not one has ever chipped. They are rainbow colors and make me very happy."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, April 2025, in Lapis
"All dishes are not the same shade of pink! Some are lighter than others."
Amazon customer, verified purchase, April 2026, in Peony
The Fiesta article has more on the dishes and the colors.
Which cookware color goes with your kitchen
The Essential Guide's rule for a colorful kitchen is one color, one neutral, and not a third thing in a third color, and cookware counts. So a Dutch oven or a set of pans belongs in the kitchen's one color, or in its neutral. And the Essential Guide's own example is a Great Jones Dutch oven in the matching bright, beside a kitchen of Big Chill appliances in one color.
Cookware in a neutral is on this list too, from Le Creuset's Meringue and Staub's Black Matte to Great Jones' Pepper. And Caraway makes its set in cream, white and black, while GreenPan's Rio Advanced comes in cream white.

But cookware color names don't carry over from one maker to the next, and even one maker's shades can differ from piece to piece, as the Fiesta owner above found.
Before you buy colorful cookware
- Weight: check that you can lift a full cast iron pot, because the Great Jones Dutch oven alone weighs 15 pounds.
- Cooktop: check that the pan works on induction if you cook on induction, because GreenPan's original Rio doesn't.
- Oven: check how hot the cookware can go, from 350 °F for GreenPan's Rio to 550 °F for Caraway's set.
- Washing: expect to wash by hand, because Caraway says the dishwasher damages its coating, and Our Place, Staub and Great Jones all recommend hand washing.
- Seller: check who sells the piece on Amazon, because Staub's warranty may not apply to a pot from an unauthorized seller.
