Ranges
How to choose a colorful range: fuel, size and who makes it
The color is the easy part of choosing a range. So this guide starts with the three things that decide which ranges will work in your kitchen, the fuel, the width and the maker, and then goes through every colorful range we list.

The range is the piece you stand in front of every day, the piece guests look at, and the piece that has to light every morning. But it's also where the gap between the look and the build costs the most, because a range that breaks down leaves you with a kitchen you can't cook in. So before you fall for a color, three questions narrow the field: what your kitchen can run a range on, how wide the opening is, and who stands behind the range once it's in.
The ZLINE Legacy, from $2,465 for the 30 inch range.
Kucht, with four years of parts and labor.
KitchenAid in Juniper.
Fisher & Paykel's Classic range.
Bertazzoni, in red, orange or yellow.
Two kinds of colorful range

Two different kinds of colorful range look the same in a photograph, so it's worth telling the two kinds apart first.
- A colored door on a stainless range. Kucht and ZLINE sell a stainless range with a colored oven door, and Kucht's dual-fuel ranges add a colored kick plate below it. From the front it's a colored range, and from the side it's stainless. And because the door is a part, Kucht sells a kit to change the color later, $600 for the 36 inch range. But ZLINE sells no kit.
- A range colored all over. Bertazzoni, Viking and AGA color the whole body, and KitchenAid's Juniper green covers the whole range too. So the color is permanent, which is the point, and the risk if you change your mind later.
The fuel your kitchen can run a range on

Start with what's behind the range, because that decides which ranges you can buy without calling an electrician first.
- All gas: gas burners and a gas oven. An all-gas range runs from a gas line and an ordinary 120-volt outlet.
- Dual fuel: gas burners over an electric oven. So a dual-fuel range needs a gas line and a 240-volt circuit, from 30 to 50 amps depending on the range.
- Induction: the cooktop heats the pan itself, so your pans have to be magnetic, and an induction range needs a 240-volt circuit of its own.
- Electric: an electric range heats with radiant elements under glass, on a 240-volt circuit.
And if the wall behind the range has only a 120-volt plug, budget for an electrician before you budget for the range.

ZLINE Legacy, Kucht dual fuel, KitchenAid 36 inch commercial-style, Fisher & Paykel Series 9, Bertazzoni dual fuel, Viking 3 Series dual fuel
KitchenAid commercial-style induction, Bertazzoni induction, AGA Elise
KitchenAid Juniper slide-in electric, Viking 3 Series electric, AGA cast-iron cookers
The width of the range opening

Colorful ranges come in widths of 30, 36 and 48 inches, and a 30 inch range wants a 30 inch opening. So measure the opening, not the old range. Then check the space beside it, because this is where makers differ most. Kucht asks for 10 inches of clear space on each side above the counter, while ZLINE, Café, Bertazzoni and Viking ask for 6 inches. That means a Kucht squeezed into a 30 inch gap between two tall cabinets is against its own manual. And above the cooktop, almost every maker asks for 30 inches to cabinets that aren't protected.
Who makes each range, and who fixes it
Who makes the range is the question that matters most once the range is in. So here's every colorful range we list, sorted by what each range does best, with what you give up.
Four years of parts and labor. Service starts with a video call.
Two years of parts and labor, four if you register the range.
Two years full, then the burners as parts only to year five.
One year of parts and labor, then parts only to year five.
Two years of parts and labor, and the warranty moves with the house.
One year of parts and service, plus a lifetime warranty on the burners.
One year of parts and labor.
One year of parts and labor on the whole range.
The color now, at the lowest price: ZLINE Legacy
Sold by Colorful Brands. The 30 inch dual-fuel Legacy is $2,465 in White Matte or Black Matte, $2,900 in Blue Gloss and $3,000 in Blue Matte or Red Matte, and the 36 and 48 inch sizes come in the same colors plus Red Gloss. As for who makes it, ZLINE is based in Reno, Nevada, and says its ranges are assembled in ZLINE-owned facilities in China with parts from the US, Italy and Germany. Then delivery is free, and the range leaves the warehouse within four business days. But the warranty is one year on parts and service, with a lifetime warranty on the burners only, the shortest of any range we sell. And you should know about ZLINE's recalls. Three recall actions covered ZLINE's all-gas ranges for carbon monoxide. But the dual-fuel Legacy ranges we sell were never recalled, and both halves of that are true.
"I love my range. I have never had a gas range and this one is awesome. The oven is electric and works great. Cooks evenly and everything comes out perfect."
A ZLINE Legacy owner, Best Buy review
"The gas stove top is great with a nice variety of burner sizes but igniters work only about half the time."
A ZLINE owner, AJ Madison review, 2021

$2,900.
Sold by Colorful Brands.
$3,600.
Sold by Colorful Brands. The longest warranty of the ranges we sell: Kucht
Sold by Colorful Brands. The 30 inch dual-fuel KDF302 is $3,029, the 36 inch KDF362 is $3,576, and Kucht also makes all-gas and Professional versions in the same three widths. And the warranty is four years on parts and labor, and there's no safety recall on any Kucht product. As for who makes it, Kucht is based in Clifton, New Jersey, names no factory, and US customs records show its ranges shipped from a maker in Zhejiang, China. But service starts with a video call with a Kucht technician, and owners report months of delay on repairs, with technicians concentrated in southern California. And the warranty excludes commercial use, which Kucht says includes baking to sell from home. Delivery is free, and the range leaves the warehouse within four business days.

$3,576.
Sold by Colorful Brands.A green range from a household name: KitchenAid in Juniper
Sold by Abt Electronics. Juniper is a dark green that covers the whole range, with handles and knobs to match. The 30 inch slide-in comes in electric ($1,898 at Abt) or gas ($1,998), and the commercial-style ranges run from $4,859 for the 30 inch gas to $8,009 for the 36 inch dual fuel. KitchenAid is a Whirlpool brand, and it says the induction model is assembled in Cleveland, Tennessee. And the warranty is one year on parts and labor. Owners of the gas slide-in praise its air fry and the center burner, while the critical reviews describe a touch panel that froze and an oven fan that kept running.

Matte white or matte black, with GE behind it: Café
Sold by Abt Electronics. Café is a brand of GE Appliances, owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky, and its colors are matte white and matte black only. The 30 inch gas slide-in is $3,344 at Abt, and it scores 4.4 out of 5 stars from 1,511 owner reviews on Café's own site, with 5% at one star. But the warranty is one year on the whole range, and damage to the finish is covered only if you report it within 48 hours of delivery. And in December 2021, GE Appliances recalled about 132,000 ranges, Café's 30 inch slide-ins among them, because a range could tip over if its anti-tip bracket was never fixed to the wall or floor. That recall covers ranges sold from May to July 2021, so a range bought new today is outside those dates. Whoever installs it should still fit the bracket.

Red from a big brand, with a warranty that moves with the house: Fisher & Paykel
Sold by Abt Electronics. Fisher & Paykel's Classic range comes in red, white or black, about $1,000 more than the same range in stainless. The 30 inch all-gas Series 7 is $6,499 at Abt, and the 30 inch dual-fuel Series 9 is $7,299. As for who makes it, Fisher & Paykel is a New Zealand brand, part of China's Haier Group since 2012, and Abt's listing says the ranges are made in Thailand. And the warranty is two years on parts and labor, with no registration needed, and it passes to the next owner of the home. As for safety, Fisher & Paykel's April 2026 recall covered its stainless professional gas ranges, not these. But the color is permanent, and the only colored part sold separately is a kick strip.

Italian, colored all over: Bertazzoni
Sold by Abt Electronics. Bertazzoni's Professional Series comes in red, orange or yellow, which Bertazzoni calls Rosso, Arancio and Giallo. The 30 inch induction range is $7,919 at Abt and the 30 inch dual fuel is $8,569. Bertazzoni is an Italian family company that has made cooking equipment since 1882, and it says it makes these ranges at its own factory in Guastalla. The warranty is two years on parts and labor, four years if you register the range, though complaints about oven temperature are covered for only the first 180 days. There's no recall on record. But each range is made to order and ships in about 12 weeks, and owners are split, with 41% five-star reviews against 45% one-star on Trustpilot.

Viking: eighteen colors, and the longest safety record to read
Sold by Abt Electronics. Viking is based in Greenwood, Mississippi, and says most of its products are made there. Since February 2026 it has been owned by Composition Brands, which also owns AGA. And Viking makes its ranges in 18 colors, and the ones we link run from Slate Blue, a deep navy, to Daffodil, Ivy and Valentine. The 30 inch 3 Series in Slate Blue is $6,289 electric or $6,999 dual fuel at Abt, and the 5 Series starts at $7,699. Its warranty is two years full, then burners as parts only through the fifth year, with you paying the labor, and cosmetic parts are covered for 90 days. And Viking has more recalls than any other brand we list: eight recalls, one covering about 52,000 ranges whose ovens turned themselves on, and a $450,000 federal penalty in 2011 for failing to report a known defect. Then, in February 2022, Viking recalled 5 Series 30 inch gas ranges made from August 10 to December 1, 2021, so a range bought new today is outside those dates.

The cast-iron original: AGA
Sold by Abt Electronics. An AGA cooker isn't a range with burners and one oven. It cooks with heat from cast iron, in three ovens set at different temperatures and on two hotplates, and AGA makes it in Shropshire, England, in sixteen colors at Abt. The R7 100 is $24,695 at Abt, and the eR7 100, which switches each oven on and off, is $26,749. And AGA's Elise is a 36 inch induction range in colors like Cornwall Green and Indigo, from $8,285. An AGA cooker weighs 815 pounds, so the floor has to be level and strong enough to carry it. The warranty on the cast-iron cookers is one year on parts and labor, then parts only to the fifth year, and AGA's US owner record is so thin that there's little to go on. As for safety, AGA's September 2026 recall covers the dual-fuel Elise, not the induction Elise we link to.

Before you order a range
A range is heavier than it looks, hotter than the cabinets around it, and wired differently depending on the fuel. So run through these checks first.
- The opening: measure it, and match the range width to it.
- The space beside it: 10 inches on each side for Kucht, and 6 inches for ZLINE, Café, Bertazzoni and Viking.
- The outlet: an ordinary 120-volt outlet for an all-gas range, and a 240-volt circuit for dual fuel, induction and electric ranges.
- The anti-tip bracket: whoever installs the range should fix it to the wall or floor.
- The weight: Café's 48 inch range weighs 576 pounds and an AGA weighs 815 pounds, so plan the delivery path and the floor.
- The pans: induction needs magnetic pans, so test yours with a fridge magnet first.
